Itinerary

On arrival into Edinburgh Airport, you will be met by your transfer driver in the Arrivals Terminal and transferred to your Edinburgh accommodation where you can drop off your luggage and start your Scottish adventure. Explore Edinburgh City where centuries of history meet a vibrant, cosmopolitan city in a stunning setting.

 

Edinburgh Hop on Hop off Sightseeing Tour Bus

You will enjoy a city tour on board the Edinburgh Hop on Hop Off Sight-seeing Tour Bus with a 48-hour ticket. The tour will help you compare Edinburgh’s Old Town to the elegant Georgian New Town, with its 3 main streets and square at either end.

 

Edinburgh City

Edinburgh is Scotland’s compact, hilly capital. It has a medieval Old Town and elegant Georgian New Town with gardens and neoclassical buildings. Royal mile is a mile long and is made up of four different streets that form the city’s main thoroughfare thorough fare of the old town with famous historical sites and buildings. It’s full of shops, eateries and pubs and bagpipe players. It’s just one of those things you have to do when you’re in Edinburgh.

 

Edinburgh Castle

Visit Edinburgh Castle, see the Crown Jewels and learn about the battles and sieges fought at the castle. You will also learn about the royals who lived and died within its walls. From the Castle you will see the panoramic views over Edinburgh City.

 

Optional Extra – Edinburgh Underground Vaults Tour

This evening you might like to go on a thrilling ghost tour of Edinburgh’s Old Town that takes you underground to the Edinburgh Vaults. Join your cloaked guide on a journey to reveal the ghostly, unsettling, dark history of the city’s past and its people.

Explore the State Apartments; see Mary Queen of Scots’ historic chambers, the Throne Room, and more.

 

The Royal Yacht Britannia

The Royal Yacht Britannia was home to Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Family for over 40 years, sailing over 1,000,000 miles around the world. Now berthed in Edinburgh, you can follow in the footsteps of Royalty to discover the heart and soul of this most special of Royal residences.

 

Scottish Dinner & Dance Show

Tonight, you will attend a traditional Scottish night with music and dance accompanied by a great selection of quality Scottish food to delight your pallet. The resident band and traditional Scottish Dancers provide breath-taking performances for their audience and never fail to entertain. The show starts at 6.30pm and includes a 4-course meal.

Day Trip to St. Andrews by Coach

Today you will enjoy a day in the medieval kingdom of Fife on a small-group tour from Edinburgh. Visit its fishing villages and the ancient university town of St. Andrews, the home of golf. See historic, picturesque Falkland and its formal royal palace along the way.

 

St. Andrews

Standing proudly on the east coast of Scotland, the historic town of St Andrews is a jewel in the crown of Fife. One of Europe’s finest towns, St Andrews is a place of history, learning and culture, a wonderful coastal resort, and the world’s home of golf. St. Andrews is also home to the oldest University in Scotland, dating back 6 centuries. You’ll have plenty of time to explore this ancient and interesting town.

You will return back to Edinburgh at the end of the day.

This whisky and folklore evening is unique in Edinburgh. Visit an outstanding whisky venue where you will be served four classic single malt scotch whiskeys and immerse yourself in the great cultural importance of whisky and storytelling in Scotland.

Today you will experience the history of Scotland’s Loch Lomond and Trossach National Park in a full day tour. Visit the Kelpies Monument and Stirling Castle, associated with Scottish historical heroes William Wallace and Robert the Bruce. Admire the Trossachs’ mountain-and-lake scenery as you meet Scotland’s famous Highland cows, and choose to tour either a whisky distillery or Doune Castle.

 

The Kelpies & The Helix

Today you will see The Kelpies are 30-meter-high horse-head sculptures depicting Kelpies, standing next to a new extension to the Forth and Clyde Canal, and near River Carron, in The Helix, a new parkland project built to connect 16 communities in the Falkirk Council Area, Scotland.

 

Stirling Castle

Visit Stirling Castle, one of the largest and most important castles in Scotland. It sits atop Castle Hill, an intrusive crag, which forms part of the Stirling Sill geological formation. It is surrounded on 3 sides by steep cliffs, giving it a strong defensive position.

 

Deanston Distillery Tour

Deanston Distillery sits by the River Teith at the entrance to the dramatic Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Having been a cotton mill for 180 years, Deanston was transformed into a distillery in the 1960’s and has been distilling whisky using traditional methods ever since. Experience the sights, smells and sounds of a true working distillery and we will show you how we hand craft our great whisky which is sweet, fruity with a malty honeyed spiciness on the palate.

 

Optional Extra – Doune Castle

Explore this 14th century courtyard castle in Doune, with a striking 100 ft high gatehouse and one of the best-preserved great halls in Scotland. The striking keep-gatehouse combines domestic quarters including the splendid Lord’s Hall with its carved oak screen, musicians’ gallery and double fireplace.

You will return back to Edinburgh at the end of the day.
