Itinerary

Welcome to Ireland!

On arrival into Dublin Airport, you will be met by your transfer driver in the Arrivals Terminal and transferred to your city centre hotel.

Hop on Hop off bus

Explore the sights of Dublin City and enjoy commentary using the Dublin City Hop on Hop off Bus service. Relax on a 90 minute city tour and then use the bus to transfer you between attractions.

Guinness Storehouse

Today you will visit the Guinness Storehouse and learn how the famous ‘blackstuff’ is made. Afterwards enjoy a complimentary pint of Guinness in the Gravity Bar which enjoys panoramic views of the City. Sláinte!

Accommodation: Elegant Dublin City Hotel – 2 nights

After a good nights’ rest continue touring the rest of Dublin City on board the Hop on Hop off Bus. The bus will be your mode of transport around the city and will transfer you between attractions. Dublin Castle, Christchurch Cathedral and St. Patrick’s Cathedral are all within a short walking distance of each other.

Book of Kells

Today you will visit Trinity College, a distinguished college attended by legendary writers such as Jonathan Swift, William Congreve and Oscar Wilde to name but a few. Here you will see the famous ‘Book of Kells.’ It is an illuminated manuscript Gospel book in Latin, containing the four Gospels of the New Testament together. It was completed in 800 AD and is said to be the oldest (and most beautiful) book in the world!

Afternoon Tea at the 5* Westbury Hotel on Grafton Street

Sink back into a sumptuous sofa and enjoy a Dublin institution: Afternoon Tea at The Westbury hotel. Enjoy views over Grafton Street as you sample an enticing selection of sandwiches, scones, homemade pastries and divine patisserie; try fragrant teas from all over the globe served in pretty silver teapots; and for a particularly indulgent experience, try a glass of Perrier-Jouët Blason Rosé from our hugely popular Champagne trolley.

**Optional Extra**Dublin’s Traditional Musical Pub Crawl

Why not experience the vibrancy of Dublin’s traditional drink and Irish music scene on a musical pub crawl this evening through Temple Bar – Dublin’s cultural quarter! Accompany some musicians on a fun and educational tour through the hip yet historic district, where you’ll visit classic pubs and bars, witness local drinking culture, and encounter Irish storytelling and music at its best.

Accommodation: Elegant Dublin City Hotel – 2 nights

Collect your car rental from Hertz downtown location which is located in Dublin City at 151 South Circular Road, Dublin 8 and depart Dublin.

Blarney Castle

You will head to the town of Blarney. Visit Blarney Castle, it is a 15th century McCarthy Castle. You will enjoy a stroll through the estate to the castle and then climb to the top and kiss the Blarney Stone. It is said that you will obtain the gift of eloquent speech by kissing the stone, otherwise known as ‘The Gift of the Gab!’ A visit to the Blarney Woollen Mills is also highly recommended, with its fantastic variety of Irish crafts available for sale and its wonderful restaurant.

Killarney Town

The balance of the day will be at your leisure in Killarney where you will have the opportunity to enjoy the abundance of restaurants and pubs this evening.

Accommodation: Elegant Killarney Hotel – 3 nights

Hike to the top of Ireland with a spectacular guided tour of Carrauntoohil, Ireland’s highest mountain. Feast your eyes upon the most amazing and romantic scenery of wild and untouched landscapes.

Carrauntohil is an impressive pyramid shaped mountain that soars 1040 metres into the Killarney skyline and sits high upon its throne, the MacGillyCuddy reeks. It offers striking views of steep gullies, glaciated formed lakes and knife edge ridges that have been carved out and shaped by nature’s delicate hands. A walking paradise to the top of Ireland.

Return to Killarney to enjoy the rest of your evening.

Accommodation: Elegant Killarney Hotel – 3 nights

Experience the adventure of a lifetime with a magical tour of the Ring of Kerry and take a unique and breathtaking self-guided cycling tour of the spectacular Valentia Island. We will take you off the beaten track to explore one of the Ring of Kerry’s secret gems, Valentia Island.

You will travel around the MacGillicuddy Reeks and the Iveragh Peninsula, along the breath-taking Atlantic Coast, Dingle Bay and Kenmare Bay, returning to Killarney through the famed Molls Gap, Ladies View and Killarney National Park. En route are the lovely coastal villages of Glenbeigh, Waterville and Sneem and the thriving market towns of Killorglin and Caherciveen. The Ring embraces many points of historic and archaeological interest.

Accommodation: Elegant Killarney Hotel – 3 nights

Gap of Dunloe – Jaunting Car Ride & Boat Cruise

The Gap of Dunloe is a narrow mountain pass forged between the MacGillycuddy Reeks and Purple Mountain by glacial flows. The river running through the gap is the river Loe from where the Gap gets its name.

The Gap begins at Kate Kearney’s Cottage. Within easy walking distance from Kate Kearney’s cottage is a picturesque old bridge known as the ‘Wishing Bridge’. It is said that wishes made here really do come true!

You will take a magical horse drawn carriage ride from Kate Kearney’s Cottage through The Gap. Once you arrive at Lord Brandon’s Cottage you will be free to stop for a charming lunch.

Afterwards you will take an enchanting cruise across Killarney Lakes and arrive at Ross Castle.

Killarney National Park – Torc Waterfall

Next you might enjoy a stroll to the dreamy and picturesque Torc Waterfall which is well worth a visit. If you enjoy walking, there are walking trails mapped out beside the Waterfall which are most enjoyable.

Depart Killarney and travel to Dingle.

Accommodation: 4* Castle Hotel, Dingle – 2 nights

Today tour the spectacular Dingle Peninsula, one of Ireland’s most picturesque spots. Visit the town of Dingle, then drive around Slea Head and admire its rugged beauty. Visit the Blasket Island Center. Stop and visit the Gallarus Oratory and other Early Christian sites. The Gallarus Oratory is a 7th century stone chapel used by pilgrims going to Mount Brandon. Return to Killarney and try out a ‘singing’ pub tonight.

Foxy John’s Pub – Dingle

Foxy John’s is a local, authentic hangout in the heart of Dingle. It is a half hardware store, half pub, meaning you can stop by for a cheeky pint en-route to pick up those nails, twine or whatever DIY essentials you’re lacking.

The pub itself is small and traditional in design with a bar on the left and the hardware store counter on the right, upon entry. Out the back, a covered beer garden offers guests a lazy spot to escape the summer sun during the more favourable months.

Accommodation: 4* Castle Hotel, Dingle – 2 nights

This morning you will depart Co. Kerry for Galway City but first you will make a stop at the famous Cliffs of Moher.

Tarbert Car Ferry

Depart Killarney this morning and travel north towards Galway City. You will take the Tarbert Car Ferry which will reduce your driving time and take you from County Kerry into County Clare. Continue along the west coast towards the Cliffs of Moher.

Cliffs of Moher

The Cliffs of Moher are one of Ireland’s top visitor attractions and are a designated UNESCO Geo Park. The Cliffs are also considered to be one of Ireland’s most romantic sites and at 695 ft high, the views spanning over the Atlantic Ocean are breath-taking. Numerous couples have chosen the cliffs as their special place to get engaged while some have even gone so far as to get married there!

Cruise under the Cliffs of Moher

Sail from Doolin on a voyage of discovery below the mighty Cliffs of Moher.  Your ship will depart from Doolin sailing south for approximately 20 minutes to the highest point, close to the large seastack, An Bhreannan Mór. The ship will cruise around this section for approx. 20 minutes, where the crew will show you the various points of interest – where the Puffins nest, O’Brien’s tower at the highest point, and the famous sea cave that featured in the Harry Potter movie, the Half Blood Prince. Then sit back and relax while your captain sails you back to Doolin.

The Burren

Tour on through the Burren – an area of limestone hills which supports a wide range of flora. There are information points along the way, explaining the formation of the distinctive “Karst Landscape” which you are free to stop at. The landscape here is wild and rugged.

Continue to Galway City where you will overnight.
