After a good nights’ rest continue touring the rest of Dublin City on board the Hop on Hop off Bus. The bus will be your mode of transport around the city and will transfer you between attractions. Dublin Castle, Christchurch Cathedral and St. Patrick’s Cathedral are all within a short walking distance of each other.

Dublin Castle

Dublin Castle: Originally built in the 13th century on a site previously settled by the Vikings it functioned as a military fortress, a prison, treasury, courts of law and the seat of English Administration in Ireland for 700 years. Rebuilt in the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, Dublin Castle is now used for important State receptions and Presidential Inaugurations.

Book of Kells

Today you will visit Trinity College, a distinguished college attended by legendary writers such as Jonathan Swift, William Congreve and Oscar Wilde to name but a few. Here you will see the famous ‘Book of Kells.’ It is an illuminated manuscript Gospel book in Latin, containing the four Gospels of the New Testament together. It was completed in 800 AD and is said to be the oldest (and most beautiful) book in the world!

Continue to the quaint harbor town of Kinsale, known as the ‘Gourmet Capital of Ireland.’ Marvel at the colored houses dotted on the landscape and explore the boutiques, shops, restaurants and pubs. You will discover Kinsale’s historic buildings, narrow streets, shops and galleries and activities on sea and land. It owes its unique character to the fact that it was a garrison town and significant port for over 300 years, hence it’s magnificent Georgian houses and the Dutch architectural influence.

Occupying a stunning and unique headland reaching out over two miles into the Atlantic Ocean, the Old Head of Kinsale is home to the most spectacular world-class golf course. Located in County Cork on the South West Coast of Ireland, as the incredible brainchild of the late John O’Connor together with his brother Patrick, the Club has developed into one of the most recognized and sought after golf experiences anywhere on earth.

Cobh was one of the major embarkation points of emigrants during the 19th and 20th centuries and also the last port of call for the Titanic before she sank on her maiden voyage in 1912 and the port where many of the victims and survivors from the Lusitania tragedy were brought ashore.
