Golf Course Overview

In Ireland, nature has provided wonderful raw materials for the greatest golf architects in the world. They have embraced this inspiration by designing some of the world’s finest golfing challenges and assuring Ireland’s place as a prestigious golfing destination. Not only are the courses themselves both spectacular and challenging, the stunning scenery which surrounds them is positively breathtaking.

With World class golfers such as current world number one Rory McIllroy, Europe’s 2014 Ryder Cup Captain Paul McGinley, winner of 3 majors Padraig Harrington, US Open Champion Graeme McDowell and Open Championship winner Darren Clarke it is clear why Ireland is becoming so established in the sport of golf.

Is it any wonder that golf enthusiasts such as Bill Clinton, Michael Jordan and the late Neil Armstrong have come for a round consider the fact that there are over 400 links and parkland courses on offer throughout the country with varying levels of difficulty and a host of stunning settings.

Even our weather, although not ideal for the sunbathers, is temperate enough to make it a rare day when you can’t play.

Ireland can be divided into four distinct golfing regions and we now invite you to explore the exceptional courses available in each.
